Amouage's history

His Highness Sayyid Hamad bin Hamoud al bu Said had a dream to restore the great Arabian art of perfumery to the region. and Amouage, the luxury perfume house was established in Oman in 1983 by the Sultan of Oman. 

Amouage uses traditional Middle East perfume ingredients such as (Oud) Agarwood, incense, musk, rose and spices. The first Amouage Scent known as Amouage Gold was created in 1983.

Almost all of the perfumes are in the traditional Amouage bottles, with women's scents in the shape of the Palace Ruwi Mosque in Muskat, with men's scents having a shape of Khanjar, the traditional dagger of Oman.

Amouage has 94 perfumes names in its fragrance data base. The earliest edition was created in 1983 and the newest 2020.
